The
internet and email are the vital communication methods
of the future – we can set-up a system which will
allow all of your PC workstations to have access to
the Internet, and for all of your employees to have
their own personal email address, for both internal
and external use, using whichever connection
technology is suitable for your needs – modem
dial-up, ISDN or high-speed broadband ADSL (where
available).
This could mean the end of internal office
memos! Even
if you already have network internet access, are you
using the best method – we can assess your current
connection method and optimise this to determine the
best deal for your particular situation, whether you
use simple modem dial-up on a standard telephone line,
digital connection on an ISDN line or high speed
broadband using some other technology such as ADSL.
We
can also improve the speed of your internet access by
installing a dedicated Proxy Server – this is a
computer which accesses the internet for you, and
stores all of the pages and images that it retrieves
– therefore if five people in your company look at
the same page, it is only retrieved from the internet
for the first person, it is then stored locally on
your network, and the next time the page is requested,
it comes from there, at very high speed.
This method can also be used to monitor, or
limit your employees usage of the internet – you
would be able to monitor exactly what web sites they
had been viewing, and also block certain sites –
perhaps you only want them to be able to go to certain
online shopping sites, or sports sites in their lunch
hour for example – this is possible with a proxy
server. We
can implement this using either Windows 2000 server,
Windows NT Server or Linux.
We can also provide an internal email service,
allowing emails to be sent within your organisation
without having to go via the internet.
The email service then becomes almost an
instant messaging service – no more office memos! |
